Giuliano Mazzuoli's passion for cars and motor racing gave rise to Formulapen, whose lines are reminiscent of 20th-century racing cars. Even the choice of colors takes us back to the races of the early 1900s, when cars from each country participating in the Formula Grand Prix World Championship were assigned a color.

For Italy, the red "Rosso Corsa" (Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Ferrari); for France, the blue "Blu di Francia" (Bugatti), for Great Britain green, "British Racing Green" (Jaguar, BRM, Aston Martin), white for Germany (Mercedes, Autounion, and BMW), later changed to silver not for aesthetic reasons, but purely for competitive ones, as without paint there was a reduction in weight. Hence the nickname for German cars, "Silver Arrows."
